York is 0-10 against the Bruins since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The York Cougars will be staying on the road to face off against the Lancaster Bruins at 7:45 p.m. on February 6th. York will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 184th, while the Bruins are ranked 18th).
York managed to keep up with the Trojans until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. York was the victim of a rough 63-43 defeat at the hands of the Trojans. York has not had much luck with the Trojans recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Bryson Steele put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 12 points along with two blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Brenden Lacroix, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Lancaster's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (66-56), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
York's loss was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-16. As for Lancaster, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-8.
York was taken down by the Bruins 73-41 in their previous matchup back in January. Can York avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
