The Banquete Bulldogs's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Karnes City Badgers at 2:00 p.m. on December 20th. Banquete has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Banquete has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 22 points or more this season. They claimed a resounding 58-16 victory over Odem on the road. Banquete's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Meanwhile, Karnes City strolled past Dilley with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 41-23. The win made it back-to-back wins for Karnes City.
Karnes City's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Arianna Torres, who scored 21 points along with three steals. Torres is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Orasco, who scored six points along with 15 rebounds and five steals.
Banquete now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Karnes City, their victory ended a 12-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-8.
Banquete lost to Karnes City on the road by a decisive 49-32 margin in their previous meeting back in November of 2021. Can Banquete avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
