Hickory had won two straight games and Jaheem Jenkins did his part to make it three on Friday. The Red Tornadoes blew past the Newton-Conover Red Devils, posting a 42-14 victory for which the team can thank Jenkins, who rushed for 188 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.0 yards per carry. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 117.5 rushing yards per game.

Although Newton-Conover took the loss, they still got scores from Amari Coulter and Jeremiah Pope.

Hickory's record is now 3-1. As for Newton-Conover, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Hickory didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 50-0 win against Foard on the 19th. As for Newton-Conover, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Bandys at 7:30 p.m. on the 26th.
