The Smyrna Bulldogs entered their tilt with the Cane Ridge Ravens with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. Smyrna came out on top against Cane Ridge by a score of 33-21 on Thursday. For Smyrna, this counts as revenge for the 35-14 loss Cane Ridge walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2022.
Smyrna was led to victory by Austin Morris and Thomas Jones. Morris threw for 280 yards and three touchdowns while completing 73.9% of his passes, while Jones gained 131 total yards and three touchdowns. Jones' longest reception was for an incredible 78 yards. Tyreque Mccarver did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 90 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Smyrna's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-4. Admittedly, the team didn't face the toughest opposition across those games, namely Cane Ridge, Antioch, and McGavock. As for Cane Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-9.
Smyrna will be playing in front of their home fans against Independence at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Tennessee (Independence is ranked 83rd, while Smyrna is ranked 74th). As for Cane Ridge, they will head out on the road to face off against Brentwood at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Brentwood will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line.
