Thousand Oaks entered their tilt with Otay Ranch on Saturday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They wrapped up 2024 with a 60-44 win over the Otay Ranch Mustangs. Given the Lancers' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 297th, while the Mustangs are ranked 788th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Otay Ranch's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Johann Omae, who posted 14 points. Dereck Beltran was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Thousand Oaks has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 8-7 record this season. As for Otay Ranch, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-11.

Thousand Oaks wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 57-52 loss against Capistrano Valley on the 30th. Otay Ranch has also already played their next game, a 58-55 victory against Imperial on the 30th.
