Donna is 0-9 against Lopez since March of 2022 but things could change on Friday. The Redskins will venture away from home to face off against the Lobos at 6:30 p.m. Donna has given up an average of 10 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Donna lost 17-5 to Edcouch-Elsa on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Lopez, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They put the hurt on Mercedes with a sharp 12-1 win on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Lobos, who have now won nine matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Chalene Granado made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brooklyn Croastan, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February. Jazzlyn Guerra was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Lopez always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .517. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Donna's defeat dropped their record down to 10-19-1. As for Lopez, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 13-11-1.
Donna might still be hurting after the 17-2 loss they got from Lopez in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Redskins avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
