After a string of ten wins, the Locust Fork Hornets's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell 58-45 to Cold Springs. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Locust Fork has scored all season.
Several Hornets players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Faith Evans, who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. The game was Evans' 17th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Hope Evans, who scored 13 points.
Locust Fork struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Locust Fork's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-3. As for Cold Springs, they pushed their record up to 18-3 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Locust Fork will take on Cleveland at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Cleveland is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. Cold Springs' road trip will continue as they head out to face Southeastern at 5:30 p.m. on January 12th. Southeastern will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 261st, while Cold Springs is ranked 22nd).
