The Woodside Wildcats scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 48-28 margin over Carlmont. Woodside pushed the score to 48-20 by the end of the third, a deficit Carlmont cut but never quite recovered from.
Evan Usher had a dynamite game for Woodside, rushing for 179 yards and four touchdowns, while also catching a touchdown. The team also got some help courtesy of Oliver Lyssand, who rushed for 88 yards on only seven carries.
Despite the loss, Carlmont still got an impressive performance from Braeden Kumer, who rushed for 201 yards and a touchdown while picking up 10.1 yards per carry. Kumer was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 60 yards. Daniel Mattioli also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Woodside has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-2 record this season. As for Carlmont, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.
Woodside does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Carlmont is also done with their season.
