The Vienna Eagles waltzed into their game on Thursday with two straight wins but they left with three. They walked away with a 59-52 win over Goreville. For Vienna, this counts as revenge for the 50-47 loss Goreville walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.
Despite the loss, Goreville still got an impressive performance from Abby Compton, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 12 rebounds. That was a full 51.9% of Goreville's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Breanna Suits was another key contributor, scoring nine points.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Vienna will take on Herrin at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Herrin is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games. As for Goreville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Woodlawn at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Woodlawn focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Wednesday.
