The Burlingame Bearcats fell victim to the Lyndon Tigers''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were beaten by the Tigers 48-0. Having soared to a lofty 42 points in the game before, Burlingame couldn't push the score so high this time.
Tanner Heckel continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Lyndon, rushing for 104 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries, while also throwing for 150 yards and a touchdown on only eight passes. Heckel is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last seven games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jalen Massey, who gained 87 total yards and two touchdowns.
Burlingame's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Lyndon, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.
Burlingame will head out on the road to face off against West Elk at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in West Elk's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last five contests. As for Lyndon, they will be playing at home against Cedar Vale/Dexter at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cedar Vale/Dexter will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Kansas Rankings (they are ranked 92nd, while Lyndon is ranked second).
