The Maiden Blue Devils will square off against the Pine Lake Prep Pride at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Maiden's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They put the hurt on Hickory with a sharp 10-0 victory. Winning may never get old, but the Blue Devils sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Brenna Halsey was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Sydney Sigmon was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
Maiden was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Pine Lake Prep got the win against Greater Cabarrus Athletic Association on Monday by a conclusive 7-0.
Greater Cabarrus Athletic Association's batters probably weren't too happy with Emery Jensen, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 16 Ks (she gave up zero walks). Jensen has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Madison Dabbs, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Sydney Gillmore, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
The win got Maiden back to even at 8-8. As for Pine Lake Prep, their victory bumped their record up to 12-2.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Maiden has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Pine Lake Prep struggles in that department as they've been averaging 12.4 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Maiden was able to grind out a solid win over Pine Lake Prep in their previous matchup back in March of 2025, winning 4-0. Will the Blue Devils repeat their success, or do the Pride have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
