The Vernon-Verona-Sherrill Red Devils's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 60-36 walloping at the hands of Proctor. Vernon-Verona-Sherrill has struggled against Proctor recently, as their game on Friday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Vernon-Verona-Sherrill's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Atticus Roque, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds, and Degaragen Paradis who scored 11 points along with three steals.
Vernon-Verona-Sherrill bumped their record down to 4-8 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.3 points per game. As for Proctor, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Vernon-Verona-Sherrill will face off against Whitesboro at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Proctor, they will head out on the road to take on Holland Patent at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Holland Patent knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully Proctor likes a good challenge.
