After losing to the Safford Bulldogs the last time they met, the Sabino Sabercats decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Sabino enjoyed a cozy 61-46 win over the Bulldogs on Friday. The win made it back-to-back wins for Sabino.
Sabino found their leader in underclassman Jayda Haley, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 13 rebounds. Haley hasn't dropped below two steals for 12 straight games. Another player making a difference was Haley Hunter, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Sabino has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 14-12 record this season. As for Safford, their loss dropped their record down to 8-13.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sabino will stay at home for another game and welcome the Hawks at 5:30 p.m. on February 7th. Safford will take on the Lions at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
