IV Section III recap Nov. 7, 2012
River Valley extended the longest winning streak in IV Section III this week by beating Monument Valley, 58-6. The win marks seventh in a row for the the Dust Devils.
River Valley took down the Mustangs 58-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. Derek Advocate threw for 247 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 76 yards in the win.
Lamarr Scarborough was the best wideout in the league this week as Terry Staggs' team beat Monument Valley. Scarborough tallied four receptions for 87 yards. Angelo Martel helped River Valley's passing attack out by catching one ball for 52 yards.
Jabril Taylor was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 34 carries, he ran for 193 yards as Buckeye defeated Bryan Begay's team. Jamarya Guy also contributed to the rushing game with 65 yards on the ground.
6-foot-1 quarterback Advocate of River Valley is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1818. He has also thrown 17 touchdowns. On the ground, the Hawks' Taylor has rushed for 2010 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Andrew Capirchio. The Fountain Hills star has 48 catches for 946 yards.
Entering into this week's contest against Blue Ridge, Advocate is short just 182 passing yards to break 2,000 on the season.
Mingus and Coolidge played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Mingus eventually emerging with a 17-14 victory. Tyler Herndon ran for 115 yards and caught one passes for 58 yards in the win.
