Leading by 36 points entering the fourth quarter didn't stop
Rye Neck (Mamaroneck, N.Y.) from scoring, as it added 15 points in the final quarter on the way to a 51-0 victory over Hastings (Hastings on Hudson, N.Y.) on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown pass by
Jakob Calvini to
Ryan Morningstar in the first quarter, the Panthers led 22-0 at the half.
Rye Neck expanded its lead to 36 points entering the fourth quarter. RN scored three times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by
Pedro M. Cueto.
Calvini and
Dom Brescia ran for a bunch of touchdowns for the Yellow Jackets. Calvini scored two touchdowns on the ground and Brescia added two as well.
Calvini stood out for the Mamaroneck school in the win. The junior threw one touchdown and kicked one extra point. He has now scored seven touchdowns on the season.
The Panthers got revenge for last year's 24-6 loss to Hastings with the victory.
Rye Neck (5-0) goes up against Valhalla in a Section 1 C/D game matchup next week, while Hastings (1-5) locks horns with Pleasantville in a non-conference game.
