Adding to the longest winning streak in 6A District 1 this week, McCracken County beat Daviess County 49-12. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
Henderson County led the league in scoring this week by notching 59 points on Marshall County.
Orville Haskins' team's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Zyaire Hughes threw for 214 and 3 touchdowns and Rasheed Jones had 108 yards receiving. On the ground Jordan Troutman contributed 174 yards. Elijah Macklin helped McCracken County's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 40 yards.
He was 12-24 with 1 interception.
Easton Phelps made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Panthers fell to McCracken County. The 6-foot-2 junior forced 1 fumble and recorded 1 fumble.
Troutman was the best running back in the league this week. In 18 carries, he ran for 174 yards as McCracken County bested Daviess County. Hughes also contributed to the rushing game with 66 yards on the ground.
Hughes has thrown for 2,013 yards and 17 touchdowns this season, while Jones has 46 catches for 723 yards.
The most important game in 6A District 1 this week will be the match up between McCracken County and the Colonels. McCracken County enters the game ranked 21st in the state, while Henderson County ranks 20th.
