Lake Placid and Hardee are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2017, but not for long. The two teams will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 22nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Lake Placid is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
Last Friday, Lake Placid was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 35-34 to Victory Christian Academy.
The losing side was boosted by Antranique Felton, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 20 rebounds. Felton is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kalianna Crenshaw, who scored five points along with six rebounds.
Hardee suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 63-21 loss at the hands of Mulberry. Hardee was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-17.
Lake Placid's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Hardee, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season.
Lake Placid strolled past Hardee when the teams last played back in December of 2023 by a score of 36-21. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lake Placid since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
