Florida Christian found their leader in underclassman Bella Fernandez, who scored ten points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Fernandez has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Natalia Stocker, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
Gianella Carmenate and Ivana Montoya certainly did their best on Saturday to try and avoid the loss. Carmenate scored five points along with 13 rebounds, while Montoya scored two points along with 15 rebounds. Montoya hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games.
Florida Christian's victory bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Coral Park, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.
Florida Christian will head out on the road to challenge Southwest at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Coral Park, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against American at 3:30 p.m. American's defense has only allowed 26.1 points per game this season, so Coral Park's offense will have their work cut out for them.
