The Pine Ridge Panthers posted their biggest victory yet this season on Friday. They claimed a resounding 62-26 victory over Tavares at home. The win made it back-to-back wins for Pine Ridge.
Pine Ridge was led to victory by Elijah Laird and Canyon Powers. Laird scored 19 points along with three steals, while Powers scored 12 points along with seven assists and three steals. Laird has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last nine times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jyles Newman, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Pine Ridge's win bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Tavares, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season.
Pine Ridge won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Mainland at 1:00 p.m. on January 20th. Mainland has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 301 points over their last four contests. As for Tavares, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Taylor at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Taylor focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 last Thursday.
