The Leesburg Yellow Jackets will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against the Citrus Hurricanes on February 8th. Leesburg knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine games -- so hopefully Citrus likes a good challenge.
Even though Davenport scored an imposing 59 points on Friday, Leesburg still came out on top. Leesburg walked away with a 70-59 win over Davenport. Given Leesburg's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 78th, while Davenport is ranked 340th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Citrus walked away with it. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Rattlers on Tuesday and snuck past 39-37. The victory was just what Citrus needed coming off of a 89-47 defeat in their prior match.
Leesburg's victory bumped their record up to 14-4. As for Citrus, their win bumped their record up to 5-17.
