Reante Byrd Turns in Season-Best Effort
Hephzibah came up short on Friday despite Reante Byrd delivering his best game to date. Byrd rushed for 204 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.3 yards per carry, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 78-yard run.
Byrd and Hephzibah will challenge Academy of Richmond County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The game will pit Byrd up against the Musketeers' star rusher Mykheal Smith. With so much talent on the field, fans are surely in for an exciting game. The only thing left to see is who brings home the W.

West Laurens found a leader in Ty Cummings as the squad took down Hephzibah on Friday. Cummings did his part (and then some), rushing for 181 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries for the 'W'. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 75-yard run.
On the year, Cummings has run in 12 touchdowns while averaging 128.6 rushing yards per game.

Adkins Posts Huge Game in 56-28 Victory
Keeping Cummings company is Shannon Adkins, a fellow West Laurens player. He rushed for 26 yards and three touchdowns.
For the year, Adkins has run in 7 touchdowns while averaging 22 rushing yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he had four rushing touchdowns.

Jacolbie Allen Delivers Electric Effort Vs Cross Creek
Rounding off our Top Five is Jacolbie Allen of Howard. Allen rushed for 71 yards and two touchdowns. He is becoming a predictor of Howard's success: when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns the team is undefeated (and 1-2 when he doesn't).
The victory (which was Howard's third in a row) raised their record to 4-2. Allen and Howard will head out on the road to take on Harlem at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
