The Escambia Gators will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Fort Walton Beach Vikings  at 6:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Escambia will face Fort Walton Beach after dropping another heartbreaker against West Florida  on Friday, which marked the second time in a row the team's come within 2.1 of beating them. Escambia fell just short of West Florida by a score of  4-2. Having soared to a lofty 13  runs in the game before, the Gators couldn't push the score so high this time.
 Escambia saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Tucker Nix, who  scored a  run while  getting on base  in all three of his plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Fort Walton Beach lost  15-5 to Freeport on Friday.
  Cannon Wilbur was cooking despite his team's loss,   going 1-for-3 with three  RBI, one  triple,  and one  run.  Trevor Camden was another,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
 Escambia's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Fort Walton Beach, they now  have a losing record of 1-2.
 Escambia skirted past Fort Walton Beach  13-11 in their previous meeting  on Wednesday. Will Escambia repeat their success,  or does  Fort Walton Beach have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
