It was a good run, but Western Harnett unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They had to suffer through a 52-17 loss at the hands of the Southern Lee Cavaliers. Having soared to a lofty 84 points in the game before, the Eagles couldn't push the score so high this time.

Western Harnett's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Londen Saunders, who posted four points. Saunders is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last five games he's played.

Western Harnett's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Southern Lee, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.

Western Harnett will take on Harnett Central in a holiday battle at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will need to watch out since the Trojans have now posted at least 55 points in their last three contests. Southern Lee and Northwest Guilford will compete for holiday cheer at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Cavaliers will be up against the Vikings' rather soft defense (which has allowed 68.13 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
