The North Montgomery Chargin' Chargers will venture away from home to face off against the West Lafayette Red Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. North Montgomery is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.1 runs per game this season.
North Montgomery will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Wednesday, then bounced right back against Southmont on Saturday. The Chargin' Chargers blew past the Mounties 11-0. The Chargin' Chargers haven't had any issues with the Mounties recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
Cade Cole made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jack Warren, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Crew Cole was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs and two RBI.
Lafayette Central Catholic hit West Lafayette with a nine-run second inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Red Devils came up short against the Knights, falling 12-1. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, the Red Devils couldn't push the score so high this time.
West Lafayette saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was LJ Whitford, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run.
West Lafayette's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for North Montgomery, their record is now 8-2.
West Lafayette's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: North Montgomery has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9 hits per game. It's a different story for West Lafayette, though, as they've been averaging 9.6 hits. Given North Montgomery's sizable advantage in that area, the Red Devils will need to find a way to close that gap.
