It was a good run, but Athens unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Monday. They took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Zane Trace Pioneers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bulldogs of the 16-6 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Athens' loss dropped their record down to 19-5. As for Zane Trace, their victory bumped their record up to 18-5.

Athens does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Zane Trace, they will take on Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Pioneers 3.1, the Indians 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
