The Granbury Pirates will take on the Saginaw Rough Riders at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Granbury has four straight victories, Saginaw has seven straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Friday, everything went Granbury's way against Fossil Ridge as Granbury made off with a 9-2 win. The Pirates might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by seven runs or more this season.
Levi Martinez was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Caden Sudderth, who scored a run while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Brazos Cornelison also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Granbury kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Saginaw didn't have quite enough to beat Ryan on Friday and fell 3-2.
Saginaw saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grayson Chancellor, who went 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
Saginaw's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11-1. As for Granbury, their record now sits at 9-5.
Saginaw's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Granbury hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .363. It's a different story for Saginaw, though, as they've only averaged .175. Will they be able to contain Granbury's hitters?
Granbury couldn't quite get it done against Saginaw in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 as they fell 3-0. Can Granbury avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
