Wausau East is 1-6 against Newman since February of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Wausau East Lumberjacks will head out on the road to take on the Newman Fighting Cardinals at 7:15 p.m. Wausau East is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
Last Friday, Wausau East lost to Wausau West at home by a decisive 63-47 margin.
Meanwhile, everything went Newman's way against Prentice on Thursday as Newman made off with a 46-26 win.
Wausau East has not been sharp recently as the team has lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season. As for Newman, their win bumped their record up to 6-15.
Wausau East was able to grind out a solid win over Newman when the teams last played back in November of 2023, winning 61-52. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wausau East since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
