Less than a month remains in the 2019-20 high school basketball season and playoff action continues to shake things up in the national rankings.
This week, it was previous No. 2 Grayson (Loganville, Ga.) falling 60-59 to Wheeler (Marietta, Ga.) AAAAAAA state championship game. The loss drops the Rams out of the MaxPreps Top 25 national high school basketball rankings while the Wildcats make their debut this season at No. 24.
Dorman (Roebuck, S.C.) replaced Grayson as the second-ranked team in high school basketball after the Cavaliers extended their in-state win streak to 59 games and captured their fourth consecutive state title.
The field for GEICO Nationals is expected to be released later in the week, as teams on the bubble eagerly await the highly anticipated announcement.
This week features plenty of exciting playoff action as California, Texas, North Carolina and Louisiana each crown state champions and the Alhambra Invitational Catholic Tournament takes place this weekend.

Regular season complete. The Eagles are expected to be the top seed in GEICO Nationals.
Captured fourth consecutive state championship, defeating Dutch Fork (Irmo) 65-46 in the 5A title game. The Cavaliers are a lock to earn an invite to GEICO Nationals for the first time in program history.
4. (5) Sunrise Christian Academy (Bel Aire, Kan.), 22-3
Regular season complete. The Buffaloes should earn their second consecutive GEICO Nationals berth.
The Washington Catholic Athletic Conference champions travel to the Alhambra Catholic Invitational Tournament this week, opening Thursday with Bishop Walsh (Cumberland, Md.).
The
Crew compete in the Grind Session championship this week from March
9-12.
Regular season complete. The Lakers appear to be in GEICO Nationals after the rankings shake-up.
Advance to the Section 2 Class 4A title game Friday against Shakopee after defeating Prior Lake 99-74 in the section semifinals last week.
This
talented group doesn't return to the court until March 27 for the New
York State Federation Tournament of Champions. The Crusaders are heavy
favorites to repeat as champions.
Opened state tournament play with a 50-point victory over Jesuit (New Orleans). The Hornets look to capture their fourth consecutive state title this week, taking on Brother Martin (New Orleans) in the LSHAA Division I state semifinals on Wednesday.
Advance to Thursday's Section 5 Class 3A title game against Totino-Grace (Fridley) after breezing past Columbia Heights 101-64 in last week's section semifinal.
Season complete. The Gaels captured their ninth consecutive NIAA state championship.
Two-time
defending state champions defeated Harvard-Westlake (Studio City) 75-65 to advance to the CIF
Southern California Open Division title game. The Trailblazers face Etiwanda on Tuesday with an opportunity to advance to Saturday's state title game.
Advance to Tuesday's NJSIAA Group 2 tournament quarterfinals where they face Haddonfield.
Compete in the Alhambra Catholic Invitational Tournament this week, opening Thursday with St. Stephen's & St. Agnes (Alexandria, Va.).
Advance to the MPSSAA Class 3A state tournament semifinals, taking on Northeast (Pasadena) on Thursday. The Engineers are heavy favorites to win a fourth consecutive
state title this weekend.

Regular season complete. Could the defending national
champions earn a GEICO Nationals bid after previous No. 2 Grayson (Loganville, Ga.) dropped out of the running?
Look to win second consecutive UIL Class 6A state title this weekend. The Panthers face Brandeis (San Antonio) in Friday's semifinal contest.
The Tigers take on Fort Bend Hightower (Missouri City) in Thursday's UIL Class 5A state semifinals.
Open IHSAA Class 4A state tournament play on Saturday against Floyd Central (Floyds Knobs). The Panthers are favorites to capture their first state title since 2010-11.

Prep A State title.
Upset previous No. 2 Grayson (Loganville) 60-59 to capture the GHSA Class AAAAAAA state title. The Wildcats enter the rankings for the first time this season after an impressive state tournament run.
