The Basha Bears suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Thursday. They had to suffer through a rough 81-38 loss at the hands of Hamilton. Basha was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-26.
Despite the defeat, Basha saw an underclassman step up: Grace Beckler dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 rebounds. Beckler is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Rose Bosch, who scored 11 points along with two steals.
Hamilton's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Savanna Creal, who scored 17 points along with two steals. Callie Hinder was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with nine rebounds and three blocks.
Basha now has a losing record at 10-11. As for Hamilton, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Basha will take on Chandler at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Chandler is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for Hamilton, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Xavier College Prep at 7:00 p.m.
