After a string of 28 wins, the Claiborne Christian Crusaders's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell 52-42 to Gibsland-Coleman. Claiborne Christian lost against Gibsland-Coleman in their previous head to head back in February of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 65-29 score last time.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Gibsland-Coleman to victory, but perhaps none more so than Baleigh Haulcy, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 17 rebounds. Haulcy is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down 14 or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Samora Sampson, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Claiborne Christian's defeat ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 28-1. As for Gibsland-Coleman, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 10-12 record this season.
Claiborne Christian and Choudrant will face off at 6:00 p.m. on February 8th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Gibsland-Coleman does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
