Faith Christian and Marfa played the most hotly contested game in TCAL Division I - District 5 (6 Man) this week, with Faith Christian eventually emerging with a 54-50 victory. Imran Raja ran for 290 yards in the win.
The Lions made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 608 from 661. The advance stemmed from a 54-50 victory over the Shorthorns last week.
El Paso HomeSchool's dynamic duo of Esteban Melendez and Aaron Aguilar proved tough for Fort Hancock to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Melendez threw for 140 yards and Aguilar had 47 yards receiving. Wyatt Dorman helped El Paso HomeSchool's passing attack out by catching seven balls for 32 yards.
El Paso HomeSchool's Melendez and Tanner Sanderson have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Melendez has thrown for 626 yards this season, while Sanderson, a 5-foot-8 receiver, has 23 catches for 211 yards. Raja from Faith Christian leads the league in rushing with 733 yards.
Hosea Stredic's team led the league in scoring this week after putting up 54 points on Marfa. Raja in the win.
