For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Rich Township and Kankakee meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Thursday. The Raptors put the hurt on the Kays with a sharp 19-6 victory. Considering the Raptors have won seven matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
The team relied heavily on Isiah Burbridge, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Brandon Bankhead, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Rich Township's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-9. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.7 runs over those games. As for Argo, their win bumped their record up to 7-11.
Argo took their victory against Rich Township when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 16-6 score. Do the Argonauts have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Raptors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
