Last Thursday, East Rockingham earned a 59-46 win over Page County. The victory made it back-to-back wins for East Rockingham.
Even though Madison County has not done well against William Monroe recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Madison County was the clear victor by a 63-41 margin over William Monroe. With Madison County ahead 39-18 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Madison County's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Bryce Breeden, who scored 17 points along with 6 rebounds and 5 blocks, and Seth McLearen, who scored 21 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which McLearen has scored at least 25% of Madison County's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Billy Acton, who scored 11 points along with 8 rebounds.
East Rockingham's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Madison County, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
East Rockingham came up short against Madison County when the teams last played back in February, falling 50-45. Can East Rockingham avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
