The Kenyon-Wanamingo Knights will challenge the Goodhue Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Kenyon-Wanamingo has given up an average of 8.7 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Kenyon-Wanamingo and Blooming Prairie meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. The Knights were the clear victors by a 17-11 margin over the Awesome Blossoms.

The team relied heavily on Amber Lerfald, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Allina Mendoza, who went 2-for-5 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Kenyon-Wanamingo kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Goodhue ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They won by a run and slipped past Zumbrota-Mazeppa 3-2. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Wildcats as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.
Emma Voth spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on nine hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Aubrey Christianson was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lola Christianson, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.
Kenyon-Wanamingo now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Goodhue, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 2-6.
Goodhue's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Kenyon-Wanamingo has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .445. It's a different story for Goodhue, though, as they've only averaged .335. Will they be able to contain Kenyon-Wanamingo's hitters?
Kenyon-Wanamingo took their win against Goodhue in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 7-0 score. Do the Knights have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
