The Platte Canyon Huskies struggled with assists on Tuesday (the DSST: Montview Knights had seven more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Platte Canyon took a serious blow against the Knights, falling 65-24. Platte Canyon was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-13.
Platte Canyon's loss came despite strong showings from Max Flores and Jack McMahen. Flores scored ten points along with two steals, while McMahen scored five points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
DSST: Montview's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Harun Hamma, who scored 16 points along with five assists and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Tara Majok, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 15 rebounds.
Platte Canyon has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for DSST: Montview, the victory was the 14th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-1.
Platte Canyon will head out on the road to square off against the Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Bennett will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. DSST: Montview will take on the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Allowing an average of 57.6 points per game, Middle Park has struggled on the defensive end, but that doesn't have to be the case in this game.
