Williston is a perfect 5-0 against Bronson since February of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. Williston will look to defend their home field against Bronson at 7:30 p.m. Bronson took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Williston, who comes in off a win.
On Thursday, Williston made easy work of Dunnellon and carried off a 12-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Red Devils, who have now won seven contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
Luna Asencion and Grace McDaniel made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Asencion tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, McDaniel tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave Asencion a new career-low in walks (zero). At the plate, Asencion scored three runs and stole four bases while going 2-for-3, while McDaniel scored two runs and stole three bases.
In other batting news, Brooklyn Bertrand was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-3. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 1.1 stolen bases per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Baylee Cribbs, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
Williston was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. The last time their batting average was this high was back in May of 2024.
Meanwhile, Bronson didn't have quite enough to beat Chiefland on Thursday and fell 5-3. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Julianne Lampton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Brystal Howard was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Presley Thomas, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
The victory made it two in a row for Williston and bumps their season record up to 9-5. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 1 runs in those games. As for Bronson, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-8.
Williston skirted past Bronson 6-4 in their previous matchup on March 10th. Does Williston have another victory up their sleeve, or will Bronson turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
