There's no place like home for the Mercersburg Academy Blue Storm, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They breezed by GVCS Broadfording at home to the tune of 70-38 on Saturday. With Mercersburg Academy ahead 39-19 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Brandon Monroe and Jordan Shifler certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Monroe scored 13 points along with six rebounds and two steals, while Shifler scored 14 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Mercersburg Academy pushed their record up to 15-6 with that win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.7 points per game. As for GVCS Broadfording, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-22.
Mercersburg Academy will face off against the Cougars at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for GVCS Broadfording, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Blazers at 8:30 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in their respective states (Cumberland Valley Christian is ranked 251st in Pennsylvania, while the Lions are ranked 241st in Maryland).
