The Minerva Lions were the 62-42 winner over the Carrollton Warriors when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Minerva took a 56-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of Carrollton on Friday. Minerva's loss continues an unfortunate trend for the team, making it three in a row.
Lincoln Mallarnee continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Carrollton, scoring 25 points along with six rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Mallarnee has scored at least a third of Carrollton's points. Another player making a difference was Braylen Murphy, who scored 14 points.
Minerva's defeat dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Carrollton, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a massive bump to their 9-12 record this season.
Minerva will head out on the road to face off against Springfield at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Carrollton, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Indian Valley at 6:45 p.m. on February 20th.
