Edison and Brackenridge are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. The Golden Bears will welcome the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Edison sitting on ten straight wins and Brackenridge on three.
On Thursday, Edison beat Jefferson 9-5.

Luis Garcia Smith spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on three hits and racked up 12 Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Hector Narvaez was excellent, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Xavier Martinez, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.
Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Brackenridge duked it out with Highlands on Thursday. The Eagles were the clear victors by an 18-1 margin over the Owls.
Rodolfo Nino made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Brackenridge is 4-1 when Nino posts two or more runs, but 4-11 otherwise.
In other batting news, Brackenridge got a massive performance out of Jordan Monroy, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Monroy has become a key player for the Eagles: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 4-12 otherwise. Daniel Ramirez Romo was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Edison pushed their record up to 16-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Brackenridge, their victory bumped their record up to 8-12.
Edison was able to grind out a solid win over Brackenridge in their previous matchup back in March, winning 4-0. Do the Golden Bears have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
