Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Desert Pines to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alanna Jackson, who scored 9 points along with 3 blocks. Jackson has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Trinity Tyrell was another key contributor, scoring 8 points along with 6 rebounds and 5 steals.
When it comes to explaining why Dixie lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kealah Faumuina. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds. The match was Faumuina's sixth in a row with at least ten points.
Desert Pines' win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Dixie, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.
Desert Pines will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Spring Valley at 6:30 p.m. on January 3, 2024. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nevada (Spring Valley is ranked 15th, while Desert Pines is ranked tenth). As for Dixie, they will head out on the road to face off against Syracuse at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
