Meanwhile, after a string of ten wins, First Presbyterian Day's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell 57-49 to Piedmont Academy. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as First Presbyterian Day came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 37th, while Piedmont Academy is ranked 191st).
Mount de Sales Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-12. As for First Presbyterian Day, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-2.
