Juan Diego Catholic is 5-0 against Granger since December of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Juan Diego Catholic Soaring Eagle will welcome the Granger Lancers at 7:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Juan Diego Catholic comes in on seven and Granger on three.
Juan Diego Catholic is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing West Jordan: they outscored them in every quarter. Everything went Juan Diego Catholic's way against West Jordan on Friday as Juan Diego Catholic made off with a 75-49 win. Given the Soaring Eagle's advantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 32nd, while the Jaguars are ranked 115th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Juan Diego Catholic's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Luke Meyer led the charge by dropping a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds. The matchup was Meyer's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Stockton Young, who posted 15 points and six assists.
Juan Diego Catholic smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive rebound total in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Granger). They claimed a resounding 71-43 victory over Kearns. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 38-17.
Juan Diego Catholic better focus on containing Zephaniah Willford and Mason Biddulph as the pair were huge in Granger's win. Willford went 5 of 11 en route to 14 points, while Biddulph almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine boards. Another player making a difference was Braslau Simo, who earned four points.
Juan Diego Catholic pushed their record up to 13-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.0 points per game. As for Granger, their victory ended an 11-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-13.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Juan Diego Catholic has been crashing the rebounds this season, having averaged 32.1 boards per game. However, it's not like Granger struggles in that department as they've been averaging 25.7 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Juan Diego Catholic took their win against Granger in their previous meeting back in January by a conclusive 70-49. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Granger's Will Tidwell, who went 10 for 22 on his way to 27 points and five boards. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Juan Diego Catholic still be able to contain Tidwell? There's only one way to find out.
