The Monroe Academy Volunteers and the Lee-Scott Academy Warriors squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but sadly the Monroe Academy Volunteers had to settle for second. They took a serious blow against the Warriors, falling 84-33. The defeat means Monroe Academy is still on the hunt for the season's first 'W'.
Lee-Scott Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ben Aldridge, who scored 21 points along with six steals and five rebounds. Aldridge is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for four games straight. Another player making a difference was Chapman Harris, who scored 23 points along with five rebounds.
Monroe Academy's loss was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Lee-Scott Academy, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 25-5.
Monroe Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lee-Scott Academy, they will square off against Valiant Cross Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Lee-Scott Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Tuesday.
