Miley Wilhoite was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off nine hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one RBI.
In other batting news, Lebanon got a big performance out of Ali Bir, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI. Those four RBI gave Bir a new career-high. Morgan Stofer was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
Lebanon hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 10-2 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Meanwhile, North Montgomery didn't have quite enough to beat Eminence on Saturday and fell 6-5. The Chargin' Chargers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Ella McManomy made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Erica Newkirk also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Lebanon has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. As for North Montgomery, they now have a losing record of 6-7.
North Montgomery's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Lebanon has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .478. It's a different story for North Montgomery, though, as they've only averaged .364. Will they be able to contain Lebanon's hitters?
Lebanon took their victory against North Montgomery when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 11-1 score. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Chargin' Chargers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
