Basketball Recap: Southern Fulton Comes Up Short

Southern Fulton lost against McConnellsburg back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Southern Fulton Indians were dealt a 90-29 defeat at the hands of the McConnellsburg Spartans. The game marked the Indians' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Southern Fulton's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Cam Cain, who posted 11 points, and Trentin Cain, who earned ten points along with seven boards and three blocks. That's the most rebounds Trentin has posted since back in February of 2024. Villi Ah Loe also deserves some recognition as he grabbed his first steal of the season.

McConnellsburg got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Hoyt Glenn out in front who went 8 for 14 en route to 21 points in addition to eight boards and six steals. Glenn has been hot recently, having also posted two or more blocks the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Brayden Ramsey, who went 9 of 20 on his way to 23 points along with five rebounds and five steals.

Southern Fulton has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. As for McConnellsburg, the win was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-1.

Southern Fulton will challenge Fannett Metal at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for McConnellsburg, they will square off against Northern Bedford County at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in McConnellsburg's favor as the squad sits on five straight wins at home while Northern Bedford County has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
