The Tooele Buffaloes pushed their score all the way to 65 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Park City 70-65. Tooele has not had much luck with the Miners recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Tooele lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ethan B rogers, who scored 15 points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Talon Shirley, who scored 18 points along with four steals.
Duke Gordon was his usual excellent self, scoring 17 points along with two steals for Park City. Bridger LaPine was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Tooele dropped their record down to 4-12 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Park City, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-13.
Tooele will be playing in front of their home fans against the Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Morgan knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight games -- so hopefully the Buffaloes likes a good challenge. Park City is on the road again on Tuesday and plays the Huskies at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th. That game will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: Damani Wilkerson and Gordon.
