Davie has been on the road for two straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Glenn Bobcats at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Davie's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five matchups.
Last Friday, Davie didn't have too much trouble with Parkland on the road as they won 59-45. Given Davie's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 35th, while Parkland is ranked 212th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Davie's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Jackson Powers, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 rebounds, and Ethan Driver, who scored 12 points along with five steals. Driver has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Coleman Lawhon, who scored five points along with six assists and two steals.
Meanwhile, Glenn came up short against East Forsyth on Friday and fell 61-48. Glenn has struggled against East Forsyth recently, as their game on Friday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Davie's victory bumped their record up to 19-3. As for Glenn, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Davie against Glenn in their previous meeting back in January as the team secured a 81-51 win. Will Davie repeat their success, or does Glenn have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
