The Mitchell Mustangs won the last time they faced the Zephyrhills Bulldogs, and things went their way on Thursday too. Mitchell snuck past Zephyrhills with a 51-45 victory.
Mitchell's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brianna Coure, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Coure continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Priya Jacob was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds.
Mitchell's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Zephyrhills, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-3.
Mitchell won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Calvary Christian at 4:30 p.m. on December 15th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Calvary Christian is ranked 165th, while Mitchell is ranked 185th). Zephyrhills and Hudson will face off at 7:30 p.m. on December 18th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hudson is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
