The Amite Warriors can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They blew past Varnado, posting a 57-26 win on the road. That's another feather in the cap for Amite, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Amite can attribute much of their success to Braylon Jackson, who scored 13 points along with 6 rebounds. The contest was Jackson's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Javan Lewis, who scored 8 points along with 5 rebounds.
Amite's win bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Varnado, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Amite will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Port Allen at 5:00 p.m. on December 21st. As for Varnado, they will head out on the road to face off against Hammond at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hammond is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.
