It was a good run, but Lake unfortunately witnessed the end of their 14-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Clarkdale Bulldogs. The Hornets were red-hot at the plate heading into the match (they scored no less than ten runs in the eight contests prior), but the Bulldogs' pitcher proved too tough.

Kasen Tune spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.

Lake's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 17-3. As for Clarkdale, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

While Lake had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
